Registration Details

We strive to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment where players can learn and enjoy the game together.

  • Oct. 29-December 31: Early Registration/Return to Team Window 

    $120.00 per player  


    Returning players registering from October 29 to December 31 will be automatically returned to the team they were on the previous season (for example: for the Spring 2026 season, players will be returned to the team they were on in the Fall 2025 season). Returning players’ families will receive an invite through PlayMetrics to register for their team. 


    Returning players who sign up during this window making a transfer request to join a new team will be placed next. Transfer requests are filled in the order in which you register, so it is important to register as early as possible. If you are uncertain about playing in the Spring but would like to return to your Fall 2025 team if you do, please sign up during the Return to Team window! If you decide not to play and let us know in writing before the February 22 deadline, you will receive a refund minus a $15 administrative fee. If you do not sign up during the Return to Team window, you will most likely NOT be able to return to your team. 


    After all returning players are placed, new players will be placed on teams after December 31 based on the order in which they completed registration. Please note that players who did not play in the Fall 2025 season are not eligible for “Return to Team.” 


    ALL players intending to play in the Spring recreation season should register from October 29-December 31. 

  • January 1-February. 22: Open Registration Window

    $130.00 per player 


    Completed registrations during this time will be placed on an available recreation team. Players will be placed, and requests will be considered in the order they are received. Returning players: Return to Team priority placement no longer applies. 


    February 22: The final day to notify MSI that you intend to switch to the MSI Classic League or play in a Travel League; after February 22, a player registered for the Recreation League, who has not notified MSI of their withdrawal, will not be rostered to a MSI Classic or MSI Travel team. 

  • February 23-April 24: Late Registration

    $150.00 per player 


    March 14: Waitlist registration begins. Team placement for late registrants will proceed as room is available. Please note that team placements may take place as late as after the first scheduled games. Additionally, March 12-14 will be our uniform preparation and distribution window. As a result, registrations completed during this time may not receive a response until the week of Monday, March 16.  


    February 23: Coaches submit first round of practice field requests to MSI. 


    By March 6: Coaches who have submitted a request in the first round will receive their practice field assignments and reach out to players’ families. If you have not heard from your coach by March 13, please reach out to the MSI office. 


    March 13: Game Schedule published. 


    March 28: Opening Weekend of Games!

    Refunds and Withdrawals 


    Below is the refund policy for the Spring 2026 MSI Recreation Program.  


    Refund Policy – No Exceptions 


    All refunds are subject to a $15 administration fee, with no exceptions. 


    To be eligible for a refund for the Spring 2026 Recreation Program season, you must notify MSI of your intention to withdraw from the Recreation Program on or before February 22, 2026, by sending an email to msi@msisoccer.org with the subject line: “Refund Request.” Your email must include the following: 

    • Player’s full name 
    • Grade 
    • Gender  
    • Reason for withdrawal 

    After February 22, refunds will only be issued under the following circumstances: 


    • MSI is unable to place the player on a team. 
    • This may occur due to insufficient roster space or the lack of available teams in a player’s geographical area. 
    • The player has a verified medical condition that prevents participation for the season. 
    • A doctor’s note is required. 

    Refunds will not be issued for the following reasons: 

    • Conflicts between the player’s or family’s personal schedule and the team’s practice schedule set by the coach. 
    • Conflicts with the game schedule. 
    • The player is not placed on a requested or preferred team. 
    • Failure to provide complete information may delay the refund process. Please allow up to at least one month after the season begins for refunds to be processed. 

    Late Registration Notice 


    Players who register during the late registration window (February 23 – April 24) may: 

    • Be placed on a team that is not requested or preferred. 
    • Experience delayed team placement, possibly after the first weekend of games. 
    • Refunds will not be given due to team placement dissatisfaction or placement that occurs after the first game.

    Refunds 

    Refunds, minus a $15 adminstrative fee, will be issued only under the following circumstances: 

    • The player withdraws in writing on or before August 6, 2025, at 11:59 PM. All refunds will be minus a $15 administrative fee.
    • The player cannot be placed on a team by MSI Recreation Program staff. 
    • The player has a verified medical condition (with a doctor's note) that prevents participation for the season. 

    No Refunds 

    Refunds will not be issued for the following reasons: 

    • The player’s personal schedule conflicts with the team’s practice schedule set by the coach. 
    • The player’s personal schedule conflicts with the game schedule. 
    • The player is not placed on a requested or preferred team. 

    Late Registration Notice 

    Players who register during the late registration period (August 7 – September 28) Maybe: 

    • Be placed on a team that is not preferred. 
    • Experience delayed team placement, possibly after the first weekend of games. 

    No refunds will be given due to team placement dissatisfaction or placement that occurs after the first game. 


    Withdrawal Process 

    To withdraw from MSI’s Fall 2025 Recreation Program: 

    • Send an email with the subject line “Withdrawal Request” no later than August 6, 2025. 
    • Include the following details in the email: Player’s full name, Grade, Gender, Reason for withdrawal 

    Failure to provide complete information may delay the refund process. Please allow up to one month after the season begins for the refund to be processed.
