Inside the Classic League
In Classic League, each team runs its own program. This means the team controls its own player selection, coaching staff, and budget. MSI handles the rest: field assignments, referee scheduling, Classic league soccer schedules, and league administration.
Teams manage their own rosters
Coaches and managers select their own players, set their own policies, and run their programs the way they see fit. Player costs vary by team depending on coaching fees, training frequency, and how the team manages its overall budget. This autonomy is what makes Classic attractive to experienced coaches who want league structure without giving up control of their program.
MSI handles fields, refs, and scheduling
Every logistics detail of the classic league soccer schedule is managed by MSI. Field assignments, referee coordination, and game scheduling are handled so coaches and managers can focus on the team. Every game is played on a field within Montgomery County, which means no long drives, no overnight trips, and no added burden on families with busy schedules.
Standings and results
Classic league soccer standings are tracked throughout the season for teams age U11 and up and published through PlayMetrics, giving players, families, and coaches a clear picture of where their team stands. Results are updated regularly, so everyone stays informed from opening weekend through the final game of the season.
Optional professional trainer program
Teams can opt into professional trainer sessions once a week, or twice a week, or every other week, depending on what works for the team. This is one of the standout features of MSI Classic. Instead of sourcing outside training on their own, teams have direct access to professional development support through the league. It is a meaningful upgrade for teams that want to invest in player development without the overhead of a full travel program.
Player Assessments for U9 or U10
Player assessments are required for all U9 and U10 players joining the Classic league.
Assessment provides coaches with a consistent, fair basis for team placement in younger age groups, where player development can vary widely. If your child is in the U9 or U10 age group,
assessment registration is required before they join a team.

MSI Classic runs two seasons each year, fall and spring. The Fall 2026 registration windows are now open. Fees are per team, per season and are based on payment by check. An additional 3% will be applied to credit card transactions.

Who can play in the Classic League?
