Committed to Our Community
MSI is a community-led youth soccer organization with nearly 50 years of history in Montgomery County, MD. Our mission is to positively impact the development of youth in our community by providing soccer and personal growth opportunities to players of all ages and abilities. We offer a level of play for everyone – from our signature recreation league to competitive travel teams – and invest in the community through scholarship programs and field development. MSI builds strong players, lasting friendships and connects our community through a love of play.
MSI has a robust financial aid program, designed to ensure that all players are able to participate in recreational programs without regard to ability to pay. MSI provides need-based financial aid annually to Montgomery County youths, as well as college scholarships to graduating MSI players.
Volunteer with TOPSoccer
MSI's TOPSoccer program is designed for athletes ages 3-21 with differing intellectual and physical abilities. We place an emphasis on development, training, and participation, rather than on competition all while adapting play and coaching to meet the unique needs of each player. Each year, the programs benefit tremendously from the involvement of several MSI coaches, players, and volunteers.
Volunteers needed are:
If you or your team would like to volunteer, please contact Pam Yerg at [email protected] or 301.424.3083.
- Youth volunteers aged 12 or older to help with the elementary and middle school programs. This is an approved SSL program.
- High school and college aged volunteers to help with the high school program
- Adult volunteers and MSI coaches are invited to share their experience volunteering in any of the three programs.
MSI Cleat Exchange
The MSI Shoe Exchange takes place every spring at the MSI office. The Shoe Exchange is designed to provide players with a source for quality used soccer shoes in a wide range of youth sizes, and to help reduce the cost of participating in youth soccer.
Those who bring in good condition/used soccer shoes may exchange them for other good condition/used soccer shoes in MSI’s inventory for a small donation of $3.00. Those who do not bring in shoes to exchange may obtain good condition/used shoes from the exchange for a slightly higher donation of $5.00. The donation is used only to offset the costs of running the exchange.
Manna Food Drive
For near two decades, MSI has supported our community through bi-annual food drives. The 2019 MSI Food Drive will be conducted on Saturday, September 28, but will be limited to the MSI Kindergarten, 1st Grade, and 2nd Grade Age groups! We ask that each family in these age groups bring non-perishable canned or boxed foods in paper or plastic bags marked 'MSI FOOD DRIVE' to their playing field on game day and leave them a safe distance from the corner of the field closest to the parking lot, or other location as directed. Additional information on how your family can donate or help out with transporting donations to Manna will be emailed to all MSI families in these age groups.
MSI was an early and enthusiastic of the development of the Maryland SoccerPlex. After having donated nearly $1 Million prior to the construction of the facility, MSI has continued to provide $400,000-$500,000 annually towards the development and operation of Soccerplex fields located at South Germantown Recreational Park, managed by the Maryland Soccer Foundation.
