MSI Kickoff Classic

MSI Kickoff Classic (updated 7/28/21)

The next Kickoff Classic will be held Labor Day Weekend 2021, providing MSI Classic teams with a terrific opportunity to tune up for the fall season.  All games will be played on superior quality fields, with all or nearly all games being played on MSI's lighted/synthetic turf fields at Julius West MS, Einstein HS, and Whitman HS (depending on enrollment, some additional games may be played on local bermuda turf fields, as well).

Primary play dates will be Saturday and Sunday, September 4 and 5, with smaller numbers of games on Friday night, September 3, or Monday morning, September 6.  Monday may also serve as a weather-related backup date (though, with our synthetic turf fields, that risk is significantly lessened!).  We hope to see you there!

TO REGISTER YOUR CLASSIC TEAM for the Fall 2021 MSI Kickoff Classic, please log in at the top right-hand side of the MSI home page,, click on the Programs Available button next to YOUR name* and click through (if you have several children in the system you may have to skip through them before getting to the team registration questions), until you complete the team registration by clicking Submit Order.

*If you do not see yourself listed as a participant in your account, hover over the icon with the three dots in your Participants box and click Add Participant. Fill out the required information on the subsequent page, click Continue and then select the Kickoff Classic on the following page. Follow the prompts from there to complete your registration.

Important Dates and Information

Tuesday, July 27 ... on-line registration will be available (participation is limited to MSI teams, only)
Tuesday, August 10 ... registration deadline (after that date, teams will be accepted on a "space available" basis, only)
Wednesday, August 25 ... schedules posted

Registration Fee:  $295 per team (if paying with check, "on time"; pay by check option will not be available past the registration deadline)
Registration Fee:  $302.50 per team (if paying with credit card)

Festival Format:  we are still working on the exact format of play, matching up the turf field dimensions with the likely participating teams, and taking into consideration parking capacities.  Likely formats at this time:

U10-U12, and U15-above ... 
are "festival style"  (with 6 mini-games for each team), with these age groups playing small-sided games (the same festival format we have had for years out at the Polo fields)

U13-U14 ... will look to play a total of 3 regular games (rather than festival-format), all full-sided games (11v11).

Teams must be prepared to play games at any or all of the different venues, and games may be scheduled with kickoffs as early as 8:00 AM or as late as 8:45 PM.  Teams will be scheduled to play on two different weekend dates; Friday evening games through Monday morning games are possible, with the vast majority of games to be played on Saturday and Sunday.

Refund Policy:  if the Festival must be canceled in its entirety, full refunds will be provided.  If any portion of the Festival is able to be played, no refunds will be provided (recognizing that there are many fixed costs associated with the event, and the registration fee already is at a substantially subsidized level).  With all or nearly all games scheduled on MSI's synthetic turf fields, the chances of playing are maximized, of course!
