Team Registration

Please review the following information before registering your team!

To register for the Spring or Fall Classic League, a team's MSI coach/manager must complete the team application and submit a check for the appropriate amount to the MSI Office by the stated team registration deadline.  Teams interested in applying to play in the Classic league after the team registration deadline should first contact Lance Van Winter: 

Individuals who wish to coach in the Classic program should review the information on the Classic FAQ page and submit their application by the posted coach application deadline.

Unlike MSI Recreational Soccer, players do not register through the MSI Office for participation in the MSI Classic League.  After trying out for and being selected to play for a MSI Classic team, players are registered through their team's coach/manager.  Please see the Classic Player Registration page of the MSI website. Players in the U10, U11, and U12 age groups generally need to successfully complete the MSI Classic Skills Evaluation to be eligible to try out for a Classic team. Important Notes Regarding Deadlines And Fees:

 The deadline for team registration is January 31. Team fee payment deadline is February 7. Timely team registration is critical for divisional planning and scheduling purposes. Please be considerate of the other teams and register on time. Teams registered after January 31 will be changed a $35 late fee. 

§  For player registration for U15/above teams, league fees cover player carding fees for a roster size of 18. Additional players over that amount will be charged at $16/player. Total number of players charged is based upon seasonal year

§  If your new team submitted a $150 deposit to have a tryout notice posted for your team, you should deduct that amount from the payment of your team fee.

March 8:  Program transfer deadline .Recreational players must withdraw by this date to be eligible for Classic
March 10-11: Classic Coaches Course
March 14: All teams must submit documents to registrars
March 16-18 Cherry Blossom Classic
March 24 : Classic player and adult officials online registrations completed
April 3: Classic distribution
April 7: First full weekend of regularly scheduled games
May 26 weekend: No Games
June 2-3: Final weekend of regularly scheduled games

Schedule Requests

MSI will continue our effort to minimize schedule conflicts for those coaches who are registered head coaches of two or more MSI Recreation or Classic teams. The head coach schedule request also provides coaches an opportunity to request scheduling consideration for possible problem dates for their teams. (Due to the extraordinary number of requests we receive, we regret that we cannot honor requests from assistant coaches.) While not guaranteed, we will do our best to meet your needs. Deadline for submission of schedule requests is February 28. Opening weekend of play is the weekend of April 7-8 and the last regularly scheduled weekend will be June 2-3. No games will be played on Memorial Day weekend (May 26-27) Rain date weekend will be June 9-10. Rained out games MAY also be scheduled on Sundays over the course of the season. 

• Requests received after the schedule request deadline or during the season will not be accepted.
• We are unable to accept requests from assistant coaches. 
• Teams may request ONE DAY for a bye request but may not request a full bye weekend. You should be prepared to play on all game dates as the number of opportunities to grant bye requests are extremely limited. (If your team can’t play at its scheduled time, please check the Classic Program Manual to review your options.)
• All teams should be prepared with an assistant coach or other team official in the event that MSI is unable to de-conflict coaches of multiple teams. MSI will not de-conflict more than three teams for any head coach.
